Research has shown that Enrichment Programs whether it be a foreign language, science/discovery, music, physical or spiritual growth, benefits your child in all areas of development and promotes early achievement.
Physical Education
Miss Alex Regin meets with each of our 2 year-old, 3 year-old, Pre-K, and Elementary classes once a week. Her weekly lesson plans include many activities that help improve growth motor skills. Miss Alex works on team building skills and also helps kids experience the joys of being active! Being involved in physical activity makes kids feel good and can help improve their confidence and self-esteem.
Music in Motion
Each Monday our music teacher Mrs. Linda Spotts opens the Music in Motion Classroom for 2’s, 3K, Pre- K, and Elementary classes. Children learn to Praise the Lord through singing, hand and body movements, and with rhythm instruments. Children are introduced to the various families and instruments of the orchestra and are given an opportunity to play some of the instruments. At times, guest artists are brought in to introduce instruments to the children. Children are introduced to the “note family” and learn to recognize notes, note values, and simple rhythms. The year concludes as Mrs. Spotts directs the Spring Concert which immediately follows the Pre-K Graduation.
Spanish in Action
Every Friday, Spanish teacher Miss Jennifer, drops by to instruct the 2 year olds, 3K, Pre-K, and Elementary classes in Spanish. The children learn the vocabulary through a series of techniques and activities. Spanish in Action uses games, songs, flash cards, puppets, and other hands-on material. The flash cards have pictures and symbols to help reinforce their comprehension.
Curiosity Corner
“Professor Curiosity” stops by once a month as she makes her rounds from school to school with lots of surprises in her little bag of tricks. The children sometimes call her the Lady Bug Lady once they have encountered the hundreds of Lady Bugs in her hands-on nature exhibit. Learning about volcanoes and goop and why the sky is blue makes each child a little scientist for the day.
Chapel/Special Event
HEARTLAND is our Preschool Praise Chapel. Preschoolers worship the Lord through puppetry, drama, singing, hand and body movements, praying, and Bible truths.
