We serve children from two through four years old at our Gardens campus and children from six weeks old through elementary at our downtown campus. Title: Preschool Director

Responsible To: Principal/Business Administrator

Qualifications:

  1. Evidence of strong Christian faith and willingness to maintain church membership at Family Church/First Baptist West Palm Beach.
  2. Director’s Credential.
  3. Evidence of successful teaching experience.
  4. Evidence of leadership ability, including motivating school personnel to achieve goals and objectives.
  5. Evidence of knowledge of school-related data and the ability to utilize such data for decision-making purposes.
  6. Evidence of ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, staff, and church administration.
  7. Evidence of excellent oral and written skills.
  8. Must pass drug test, finger prints, and local background check.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee, train, and hold accountable all school employees in upholding Christian values and teachings which support the ideology taught at Family Church/First Baptist West Palm Beach.
  2. Functions collaboratively with the Principal/Superintendent to assess school needs, develop a meaningful school improvement plan, and introduce those changes in school programs and personnel assignments that will result in achievement of school performance objectives and goals.
  3. Provides proactive, comprehensive and facilitative leadership for the school in the planning and implementation of school improvement initiatives, including implementing a challenging curriculum.
  4. Oversees from an administrative point of view the daily operation of the preschool.
  5. Observes preschool teacher performance and provides assistance to individual teachers in an effort to improve classroom instruction and student performance.
  6. Supervises and evaluates all preschool staff and provides staff development/training opportunities.
  7. Enhances the decision-making capabilities of all preschool personnel. Develops new skills and approaches to implement the school improvement and accountability.
  8. Encourages increased involvement by parents, First Baptist Church, businesses and other community interests through partnerships designed to achieve both management and academic improvement and accountability.
  9. Gathers, analyzes, and uses data from varied and multiple sources to form concepts and hypothesis, and to consider alternatives.
  10. Provides a clean, safe, and nurturing preschool environment.
  11. Provides effective communications with and seeks input from parents, teachers, students, and the community via systematic processes.
  12. Keeps fully abreast of and diligently enforces appropriate federal, state, and local statutes; and complies with audit requirements and Health Department policies.
  13. Emphasizes increased literacy in reading, writing, and mathematics for all students.
  14. Focuses on improved achievement for all students at the school.
  15. All other duties as assigned.

Preschool Teacher at our Jupiter Farms Campus for August 2018

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Prefer to have one of the following (but not required): Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC), Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC), or Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification.
  3. Evidence of knowledge of preschool curriculum and the ability to implement it.
  4. Evidence of ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents, and Administration.
  5. Evidence of excellent oral and written skills.
  6. Must pass a drug test, fingerprints, and local background check.

  5. Execute lesson plans in a way that instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
  6. Provide individual and small group instruction to meet the needs of each student.
  7. Evaluate each student; communicate with parents and Administration on individual student’s progress.
  8. Take part in Team PLC’s, be an active participant in all meetings.
  9. Follow Policies and Procedures as set forth by Administration.
  10. Provide a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
  11. Participate in all school meetings, training, and orientations.
  12. Complete all in-service hours on time.
  13. Turn in all required paperwork on time.
  14. Maintain parent board and bulletin board.
  15. Change diapers or assist children in the bathroom as needed.
  16. Maintain appropriate records for students.
  17. Establish and maintain standards for acceptable student behavior using appropriate techniques.
